San Francisco Arts Education Project's SFArtsED Players presents "Seussical," bringing together beloved characters of Dr. Seuss and a score by the team of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty. Performs Feb. 3-18 at the Gateway Theatre. -
Carnival (2017) (4)
San Francisco Arts Education Project’s 2017 production is the classic Broadway musical Carnival, which introduced the song “Love Makes the World Go ‘Round.” A troupe of 44 young people, ages 9 to 14, revive this Broadway musical gem from 1961 with a book by Michael Stewart (Bye Bye Birdie, Hello, Dolly!, 42nd Street) and a score by Bob Merrill (Funny Girl, Sugar) and based on the 1953 film Lili starring Leslie Caron. Carnival runs for eight performances beginning Saturday, Feb. 4 through Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017 at the Eureka Theatre (215 Jackson St., San Francisco). Tickets ($15 for students and seniors; $25 general admission) are available through City Box Office at 415.392.4400 or online at www.cityboxoffice.com. The Players’ Family Benefit Performance on Sunday, Feb. 19 features carnival snacks at 1:00 p.m., the show at 1:30 p.m. and a champagne toast and treats at intermission. Tickets for the benefit are $40 for general admission and $20 for student and senior admission. Proceeds support the in-school, after-school and summer programs of the San Francisco Arts Education Project. -

"Sittin' on a Rainbow: The Music of Harold Arlen" is an original musical revue created by Danny Duncan and Vince Peterson with Emily Keeler, Natalie Greene and Nicola Bosco-Alvarez. The show is performed by the SFArtsED Players Feb. 14 through March 1 at the Eureka Theatre. -
Li'l Abner (Winter 2014) (14)
Emily Keeler, San Francisco Arts Education’s Artistic Director, announced today that the San Francisco Arts Education Project’s 2014 musical is Li’l Abner, the 1956 Broadway musical featuring music by Gen De Paul and lyrics by the great Johnny Mercher. Li’l Abner runs for eight performances beginning Saturday, February 14 through Sunday, March 2, 2014 at the Eureka Theatre (215 Jackson Street, San Francisco). Tickets ($15 for students and seniors; $25 general admission) are available by calling City Box Office at 415.392.4400 or online at www.cityboxoffice.com. Tickets for the Players’ Family Benefit Reception and Closing Day Party on Sunday, March 2 at 1:00 p.m. are $40 for general admission and $20 for student and senior admission. The SFArtsED Summer 2012 production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's classic "Oklahoma!" Performed July 23, 2012 at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Production directed by Danny Duncan. Music direction by Henry Shin conducting the UC Berkeley Summer Symphony. Supervising musical director is Vince Peterson. Choreogaphy by Natalie Green and Erin Hewitt. Costumes by Linda Riccardi. -
