SFArtsED SUMMER CAMP  (see SFArtsED Players FAQs below)

Q. What is the adult to student ratio at Summer Camp?

A. Exploration Camp (ages 6-9) – 1 adult for every 10 children
Broadway Bound Camp (ages 9-14) – Varies according to size of the musical production

Q. What is the youngest age you’ll accept for camp?
A. We do accept children under the age of 6 if they have completed kindergarten.

Q. How are children (ages 6-9) grouped in the Exploration Camp?
A. Children are grouped by age when they are in their arts sessions. Children are together as a large group for play breaks and lunch. We try to accommodate requests by families to place children in groups with their friends.

Q. What does my child need to bring to camp?
A.  Lunch, snack, water and sunscreen.  If your child is very young, consider sending a change of clothes in case of accidents.

Q. What should my child wear to camp?
A. Play clothes. Clothes that can get dirty! Performing arts campers need to wear clothing and shoes they can dance in.

Q. Does my child need to bring his/her own art supplies to camp?
A. SFArtsED artists supply the materials and art supplies for all sessions.

Q. Does my child need to audition in order to attend the performing arts sessions?
A. No audition is required to attend any of our sessions, but children become members of the SFArtsED Players musical theater troupe by invitation only.

Q.  My child has special medical needs.
A.  Please call us to discuss your child’s needs prior to the start of camp. The more information we have in advance, the better. Make sure to fill out our emergency forms and attach any special instructions to our forms.

Q. What is your process for awarding scholarships?
A. Scholarships are merit based. We award performing arts scholarships to students who participate in special audition classes in schools where we have our Artist-in-Residence programs.  We consult both with our school principals and Artists-in-Residence in awarding non-performing arts scholarships.
