Everyone who wants to stay after school,
raise your hand!

The Big Blue After School Program serves the needs of more than 180 students. Designed to encourage and support children’s social and emotional development as well as their academic progress, the program offers creative, engaging literacy and arts-based enrichment essentials along with physical recreation components for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. We partner with the San Francisco Arts Education Project to combine arts education with after- school activities.

The program focuses on:

  • Academic support, designed with input from school-day lesson plans in reading, writing, and STEM subjects. A homework club two days a week. Activities for students to practice essential habits of learning and project-based skills.
  • Arts-based enrichment activities focus on developing artistic skills in: visual arts, music and rhythm, dance and theater.
  • Physical and recreation activities are also offered in a variety of individual and team sports as well as instruction in healthy lifestyle mind/body exercises.
FEES

As you may be aware, there are many financial changes with the SFUSD ExCEL after school programs for this coming year. A letter was sent to all SFUSD families in May 2017 outlining these changes. The SFUSD associated letter is attached below. To recap, SFUSD lost federal funding sources leading to a change in after school fees and family co-payments district-wide.

The SFUSD co-payment fee structure provides a CBO parameters to accommodate each individual school community. SFArtsED has worked diligently to stay within the medium of these parameters to best serve the families of our Big Blue Glen Park After School Program.

Glen Park Big Blue After School 2017-18 fees are as follows:
