Who better to engage kids in art, than artists?

This isn’t about a field trip. Or artists who stop by for show and tell. This is about placing artists all year inside dedicated public schools for experiential and sequential learning as well as great fun and stimulation along the way!

Our Artists-in-Residence program is exactly what it sounds like. Artists work with school educators to coordinate engaging, long-term curricula that integrate language arts, social studies, critical thinking and problem solving every day of the school year.

The artists themselves are passionate mid-career professionals with teaching experience. The program is aligned with the San Francisco Unified School District and its devoted principals and teachers.

Important to note: this program adheres to comprehensive, sequential forms of learning through State and Local arts standards. Specifically, Visual Arts and Performing Arts Learning (VAPA.)

Artists-in-Residence create their own curricula with these guidelines to allow creative flexibility. They are also asked to set benchmarks and goals.

Our kids engage with a huge variety of artistic disciplines: vocal and percussive music, dance, theater, and visual arts. They find new things to experience, expressed through the joy of their own creative voice.
